Meet our Early Stage Researchers: Nayee Muddin Khan Dousai from University of Zagreb

Tell something about yourself?

Hello, My name is Nayee Muddin Khan Dousai. In short, you can call me Nayeem. I have received my Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from India in 2011 and worked for HTC as Software Analyst for a couple of months and later graduated with Robotics Engineering from UPES Dehradun, India. After my Masters, I had the opportunity to work abroad in France for half a year with NAO robot. The opportunity to work in foreign countries made my interest in doing second Masters in Computer Vision and Robotics from the University of Bourgogne, France. I have spent six months at the University of Girona, Catalonia as an exchange student and also at Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics, Czech Republic for my Master Thesis. I have also been Co-Founder and CTO of an Educational Robotics Company for a year, the main focus was to make work-on hands for engineering students on Vision and Robotics. Apart from being a computer vision nerd, my leisure time goes into Landscape Photography, Traveling and Kalsarikännit.

Why did you apply to ImmerSAFE project?

ImmerSAFE Project gives the opportunity to work in a diverse multi-disciplinary environment with the collaboration of many universities and companies around Europe. Being a consortium project it allows interacting with other Early Stage Researchers and consultants to gain more knowledge and enhance interpersonal skills. As the main objective of the project is to focus on how to solve the problems faced by heavy work machines by implementing Immersive Visual Techniques (IVT) and solving the consequences of disasters. I believe working as ESR within the consortium environment will enhance and broaden my skills to understand both industrial and technological methods.

What kind of expectations do you have for your research project and network training?

ImmerSAFE project will make me explore, learn and implement new interactive methods and strengthen my technical career as an ESR. I would like to take this opportunity and the resources to implement my acquired knowledge and keep learning to improvise myself. Expecting to collaborate with all the ESRs and advisers from time to time and have successful outcomes by the end where human power cannot reach.

Nayee Muddin Kahn Dousai is based at University of Zagreb and his research project “Real-time image processing and analysis of UAV videos for safety-critical applications” is linked to Work Package 1.
