WP3: User experience, system performance and organisational change

Work Package 3 addresses the needs and requirements of the user of immersive visual solutions developed in WP1 and WP2. In this framework, in WP3 we will develop attention models for operators of heavy machines, investigate the inclusion of AR in control rooms, determine how the inclusion of immersive visual technologies will affect human performance in safety-critical applications and investigate how organisational changes in safety-focused organizations caused by the introduction of IVT (from planning through implementation and monitoring).

The research in this work package is divided in four tasks, which are also ESR’s individual projects:

  1. Assessing the effectiveness of IVT in an industrial machine framework (Roma3, ESR6)
  2. Evaluating the Quality of Experience of immersive visual systems in operative control rooms (Roma3, ESR7)
  3. How do immersive visual technology affect task performance in control centres? (NTNU, ESR8)
  4. Organisational changes caused by IVT in safety-focused organisations (NTNU, ESR9)

This work package is led by Norwegian University of Science and Technology. For further questions regarding the work package, please contact Prof. Marco Carli.
