José Rosa: Research project 15, “Rugged multicoloured transparent displays” (Beneq)
Project information:
Transparent electroluminescent (TASEL) displays have generated a great deal of interest throughout the world, mainly in industries that aim to improve the human-machine interfaces used in critical environments, thus increasing the safety of its operators.
Currently, these transparent screens can only display information in yellow or green, and for industries such as the ones mentioned before, it would be essential to develop and integrate other colours into TASEL displays, most importantly red, associated with warning signs.
This project will focus on the development of red luminescent materials and devices using atomic layer deposition (ALD) technology. Fundamental physics and chemistry questions will be addressed in order to find solutions to current technological and industrial challenges.
