Tell something about yourself?

My name is Simone Grassini,

I received a BA in philosophy from the University of Pisa – Italy, followed by a MSc in Cognitive Science and a MSc in Psychology from the University of Umeå – Sweden. I have previous experience of scientific research in the field of cognitive and environmental psychology, specifically on visual attentional processes and visual awareness. My research interests focus on physiological and behavioral measurements.

Why did you apply to ImmerSAFE project?

I applied to this project because as within its structure are operating scientific institutes and experts from all over Europe and this will allow for interesting and stimulating collaborative frameworks. Furthermore, the project provides an excellent opportunity to apply scientific methodologies and knowledge to technological development and work industry.

During the project, I will have the opportunity to work closely with industries and hardware/software developers, and to have access to state of art technological equipment.

What kind of expectations do you have for your research project and network training?

I will help to understand of IVT’s interact with human cognitions, helping to improve safety and performance in various industrial sectors.

The IMMERSAFE project represents a unique learning opportunity to improve academic and extra academic skills.

Simone Grassini is based at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and his research project “How do immersive visual technology affect task performance in control centres?” is linked to Work Package 3.
