Meet our Early Stage Researchers: Taufik Akbar Sitompul from CrossControl
Tell something about yourself?
My name is Taufik Akbar Sitompul and I am from Medan, Indonesia. I have B.Sc in Multimedia Studies from The National University of Malaysia and M.Sc in Service Design and Engineering from both Aalto University, Finland and University of Trento, Italy. Since 2017, I have been working for a non-profit project that aims to nurture interest in science and technology among Indonesians.
Why did you apply to ImmerSAFE project?
I believe that whatever I do, it should be beneficial for others. Therefore, I see ImmerSAFE as a great project for me since I will be working with real-life problems. It is even more exciting, when I start thinking that the results from my research would be used by many people and significantly improve working environment in off-highway vehicles.
What kind of expectations do you have for your research project and network training?
Since the research is carried out in a form of industrial doctorate between CrossControl AB and Mälardalen University, I hope involving in this project would prepare myself to be a better designer in both academia and industry. In addition to that, I am also expecting a smooth transition from academia to industry as soon as I have completed my research.
Taufik Akbar is based at CrossControl AB, and his research project “Industrial visualisation using see-through interfaces” is linked to Work Package 2.
