Meet our Early Stage Researchers: Laura Ribeiro from Tampere University of Technology

Tell something about yourself?

My name is Laura Maria Gonçalves Ribeiro. I am from Braga, Portugal. I graduated with a masters degree in Biomedical Engineering from Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2017. Since then I have been working in the 3D Media group at Tampere University of Technology.

Why did you apply to ImmerSAFE project?

I applied to the Immersafe Project because it constituted an opportunity to keep learning and developing myself.

What kind of expectations do you have for your research project and network training?

My expectations for the project – Vision enhancement in extreme environmental conditions – is that it will have a strong component of practical implementation. I expect that the organization within a network will bring important contributions to the individual work and a wider perspective over the relevant challenges and applicability of the researched solutions. I hope to contribute to the development of technologies with the potential to improve work conditions in harmful situations.

Laura Ribeiro is based at Tampere University of Technology, and her research project “Vision enhancement in extreme conditions” is linked to Work Package 1.
