Meet our Early Stage Researchers: José Rosa from Beneq
Tell something about yourself?
My name is José Rosa and I am from Portugal. I have a BSc and MSc in Nanotechnology Engineering, both from the Faculty of Science and Technology of Nova University of Lisbon. I developed a deep interest for research since my BSc internship at CENIMAT where I worked with nanostructured materials for TFT and sensors applications. I also did my Master thesis, on the subject of solution oxide semiconductors RRAM and memristors, in the same institution. After my academic journey I worked under a research grant at CeNTI, an R&D company developing sensors for critical environments. I aim to specialize myself in semiconductors and electronic devices.
Why did you apply to ImmerSAFE project?
I applied to the ImmerSAFE project because I was looking for a suitable PhD program that would allow me to increase my level of expertise in the field of nanotechnology and at the same time become part of a company where I could do research and develop new products with applications in the real world. This project seemed the perfect solution, not only for the previous reasons but also for its highest level of training and excellent partnerships throughout Europe.
What kind of expectations do you have for your research project and network training?
I hope that this training program will prepare me for present and future tasks and projects, both at an academic and industrial level. I also expect that with this multidisciplinary network it will be possible to advance in various fields of research and consequently attain knowledge and create products with great impact for the society.
José Rosa is based at Beneq, and his research project “Rugged multicoloured transparent displays” is linked to Work Package 2.
